Must Have's For your Fall Display

Aug 27th 2020

The Fall season is a favorite time for many of us, and it's easy to see why. After a long, hot summer, the air turns cool and crisp. We watch the leaves morph into new shades of yellows and reds. And the fields grow empty as the farmers turn their crops into harvests.

With all the excitement happening in the world outside, it's a special time to decorate the home for Fall.

No matter your style, make sure you have these essentials so that your home is complete for the Autumn season.

1. Pumpkins

Let's start with the very obvious. There's nothing that appropriately shouts "Fall" more so than pumpkins. If you love color, that's perfect because pumpkins come in all shapes, sizes, and colors these days. But don't fret if your style sticks to whites and neutrals. White pumpkins and gourds have become just as popular. If you go with white pumpkins, they look amazing paired with dark greens like magnolia leaves or eucalyptus. We'll talk more about faux picks and stems next.

2. Floral Arrangements

Vases filled with pretty stems and picks is essential in all home decor. Tall vases for the corner, or a small container for the bathroom shelf, foliage finds it's way into many areas of the home. The Fall season let's us experiment with a whole new color scheme for those planters and containers. Real, dried flowers can easily be used for this time of the year, as their soft, faded colors look perfect for Fall.

Fall colors not your thing so much? White pumpkins are very popular, especially with the modern farmhouse trend. No need to bring in the bright colors if that's not you. Stick with whites and neutrals, and pair with dark greens like magnolia leaves or eucalyptus.

3. Fall Sign

A cute "Fall" sign added to the display is a great way to add some fun sayings to the mix or simply to welcome the season. Some of the favorites I've seen are, "Pumpkin Spice is my favorite Season," or, "Sweater Weather." Use a small sign, about a few inches in length, to add to the coffee table display. Surround with small pumpkins and coordinating foliage for an easy look. Larger signs, vertical or horizontal, look great on the porch or entry way.

4. Cozy Blankets

Fall is hardly complete without the flannels, hoodies, and cozy blankets! Pile your favorite blankets in a trendy basket, and set by the fireplace or couch. Bonus points if you have some throw pillows highlighting the season.

5. Candles

Now is the time to spread the fragrance of pumpkin spice lattes, butter rum, maple nut frosting, and more. Candles bring a warm and cozy vibe, perfect for the cool days of Fall. Light them anywhere in your space, from the bathroom to kitchen, or laundry room and bedroom. Just make sure you remember to blow them out whenever you're finished! Candles are fun to dress up with seasonal flower rings, or fall accents like acorns and mini pumpkins.

There you have it! If you have these five basic Fall decor items, you should be all set. It doesn't have to stop there of course. There is no limit to all the possibilities when decorating your house for Fall. However, if you want to keep it quick and simple, here's your checklist.
